About Me

Howdy! I’m a Washington, DC attorney with a passion for understanding the inner workings of government. I’m a Texas Longhorn and a Richmond Spider, and my career has been dedicated to making sense of the federal regulatory process.

I currently serve as an Assistant Vice President for Federal Government Relations at McGuireWoods Consulting, where I advise clients on federal regulatory developments and congressional activity affecting their industries. My work focuses heavily on the federal rulemaking process—tracking agency actions, interpreting complex regulatory proposals, and helping shape engagement strategies before agencies, the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA), and Congress.

Earlier in my career, I worked at the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy, where I evaluated federal regulations under the Regulatory Flexibility Act and collaborated with agencies and stakeholders to ensure small business perspectives were considered in rulemaking. I’ve also gained experience inside the rulemaking process at OMB’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs, as well as in legislative offices and policy organizations.

Outside of my day-to-day work, I founded Regulation Roundup, a project focused on making federal regulatory activity easier to understand by tracking rulemaking, congressional actions, and other developments across the regulatory process.

I’m a self-professed federal regulatory nerd who genuinely enjoys poring over the Federal Register. I enjoy translating complex legal and regulatory developments into clear, practical insights that help policymakers, stakeholders, and organizations understand how federal policy is evolving. If you share an interest in the regulatory process, administrative law, or the intersection of policy and rulemaking, I’d be glad to connect.
